BRAVO! Club

North Texas Children’s Choirs announces with great joy, the BRAVO Club. Our goal is to recruit 150 donors to give $10 a month, 100 donors to give $15 a month, and 50 donors to give $25 a month, raising over $50,000 in a year! Your monthly pledge of $10, $15, $25, or more will help our dedicated young choir members grow as leaders, musicians, and students. Your investment in our choir members is an investment in the future. As members in North Texas Children’s Choirs, these singers are challenged to perform at the highest level, gain confidence to lead their peers, and serve those in need. We want as many singers as possible to have the opportunity to participate in these choirs and continue to grow as they go out into the world. Please join us today in sharing the “Message of the Heart” by investing in and celebrating our future leaders. BRAVO!

TYC Legacy Gala

The Texas Youth Chorale will be hosting its first Legacy Gala today, October 10th at 7:00 pm at the Denton Visual Arts Center. This will be a fundraiser to support the Texas Youth Chorale, including its upcoming international tour to Ireland. As a choir, we are focusing on the word legacy – our current singers are the pioneers of the Texas Youth Chorale. We want to build a lasting foundation now to ensure that the next group of singers will receive the same or better experience in TYC.

Our program at the Legacy Gala will include a TYC performance, a keynote speaker, and the presentation of the Community Servant’s Heart Award. Tracy Kornet, CBS News, will speak about leadership and the role of our singers, as children, learning to lead in our community and world.

The Community Servant’s Heart Award is a new recognition award selected and given by TYC. Our singers have been challenged to identify individuals in our community who do good quietly – those who help make lives better because of their work and should be applauded for their efforts.

Texas Youth Chorale, QUICK START Choir Camp

Just for a minute, think back to middle school when you went to summer camp. What was it like? Was it your first time away from home? Did you miss Mom? Did you get poison ivy?
The Texas Youth Chorale held its first annual QUICK START Choir Camp on August 4th We didn’t have bugs, or poison ivy, or miss Mom (it was a morning camp) – but we did learn some challenging music, made new friends, and composed Leadership Songs.
The QUICK START camp presented us with a unique opportunity to introduce new and challenging music in a focused environment. We look forward to sharing these with you as we perform these select pieces in the 2014-2015 season. Be sure to check our Calendar page for a list of our upcoming performances! In addition, we took time to hone our leadership skills by starting each day with physical exercise and listening to the various direction from our “fearless leader” Mrs. Smith! It was a fun way to focus our minds, prepare for our Ireland tour and to get our hearts ready to sing!!
We dedicated a part of camp each day to developing friendships within TYC. As with sports teams, it is very difficult for a musical group to perform well without knowing and trusting your “teammates”. We discovered that we all share the deepest emotion of the soul – passion, love, heart. This love of music drives us to success – beyond the confines of talent – by overcoming all challenges as a team with the common goal of singing the message of the heart.
Lastly, the singers were put into their voice sections and were , challenged to compose an original piece […]

Pictures from the 2014 North Texas Metroplex Children’s Choir Concert

Grant Wakefield, of Grant Wakefield Photography, has been our NTCC photographer for several years. He has served our children and parents by taking artistic and sensitive photographs of our concert rehearsal and performance.

This year, Mr. Wakefield has gifted our choir with a gallery of pictures that may be viewed or downloaded at no charge. I would like to thank Mr. Wakefield for his talent as a photographer, but most importantly for his gracious heart, and knowing the meaning of our organization. He is not only an inspiration as a professional photographer; he is an inspiration as a man. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Grant.
