The Texas Youth Chorale, a select treble choir, is for boys and girls in grades 6 through 10. 

 

With expert instruction, fun ways to learn music, team-building and a convenient schedule and location for rehearsals, this select auditioned choir is unique to all of Texas!

 

The vision of TYC is to promote vocal technique, personal development, and the preservation of choral music while empowering singers with confidence!

AUDITIONS


There is an audition packet that must be downloaded from our website. The completed forms must be brought to the audition.  In the audition packet you will find personal and school information, as well as Teacher Recommendation, Parent Letter, and Singer Letter.  There is also a copy of “God Bless America” which is your audition piece.
 
The TYC audition is held in March at our rehearsal site and is one day only.  Sign up is on the website. Heavy weight is given to the singer’s skills/talent and teacher recommendation.

 

 

TUITION



The TYC monthly tuition is $95 for our 9-month season. Rehearsal is once a week. 

Monthly tuition payments are due by the 30th of each month September to June (with no tuition due in December).  Tuition can be paid:

  • Online via button found on weekly emails or via the website under “TYC Q&A tab” (There is a $6 processing fee for online payments)
  • ​Tuition can be paid in full prior to the first payment due date 
  • Check payable to NTMCC handed in at rehearsal or mailed to 2013 Cindy Lane Denton, TX 76207

    

    A late fee of $25 will be invoiced to the parents if the account is 6 days overdue

    A Fee of $30 will be invoiced for any NSF checks

 

 

REHEARSALS

 

Rehearsals weekly on a Monday evening from 5:30-7:30pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano (1801 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75075)

 

 

TYC CAMP

 

There is a mandatory camp in August, the exact date will be provided at the audtions.  The camp runs 9:30am to 2:30pm and provides the opportunity for students to start learning the music for the upcoming year, as well as get to know each other!

 

 

UNIFORMS

 

Uniforms are rented from TYC for an annual fee of $75.  The TYC has three styles of uniforms:  Formal, Informal and Rehearsal Shirt

 

Girls Formal:  2017 will have a new dress - more information will be posted when finalized.  Each girl is responsible to provide her own black, flat or low heeled, closed-toe shoes.

Girls Informal:  TYC polo shirt (the TYC camp/tour t-shirt and polo shirt are purchased prior to camp for $25 total).  each girl is responsible to provide her own black slacks (not leggings or tight pants; if jeans, they must be dark black), black shoes and black belt.

Boys Formal:  White shirt, blue tie and suit which are rented to our singers for $75 per year.  Each boy is responsible to provide his own black shoes, black belt and black socks.

Boys Informal:  TYC polo shirt (the TYC camp/tour t-shirt and polo shirt are purchased prior to camp for $25 total).  Each boy is responsible to provide his own black slacks (if jeans, they must be dark black), black shoes, black socks and black belt.

Rehearsal shirts: (purchased with the polo shirt) are required to be worn at every rehearsal.

 

 

CONCERT SEASON

 

There are three formal performances: Legacy Gala in October, Christmas Concert in November, and Farewell Concert in June.  TYC opens the North Texas Children’s Choir Festival with the National Anthem.  TYC also performs the National Anthem orGod Bless America for the Texas Legends and the Rough Riders games during the Spring semester and various other events during the year.  In August of 2017, TYC has the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Texas Rangers game!
 

 

TOURING

 

The TYC also tours annually. Every third year there is an international trip.  Otherwise we tour within the United States.

SCHOLARSHIPS.
